Interesting suspension in the pendant lamp IC S1 from FLOS
That a pendant lamp has a spherical glass lampshade, is in itself nothing unusual. But when it is suspended in such an unusual way as in the case of the pendant lamp IC S1, it turns into a lamp with that certain something extra, a lamp that is not commonplace. With the IC S1, designer Michael Anastassiades has created a pendant lamp that belongs to the IC family of lamps and with which he wants to represent the balancing act that he observed in a juggler. As the balls glide over the arms of a juggler without falling off, so balanced is the glass ball of IC S1 on a thin brass rod, which also serves as a suspension.
Michael Anastassiades designed the IC S1 pendant lamp for FLOS in 2014. The Italian company gathers some of the most renowned designers under its roof. The result is always products that win international design awards
