Adjustable table lamp in De Stijl design This table lamp was originally designed in 1930 in the Netherlands during the De Stijl movement; the exact creator is not known. Neu has reissued the design. The prevailing principles of the art form are purist, geometric-abstract forms reminiscent of the German Bauhaus. The table lamp has a white lampshade that can be positioned as desired on the base, which is available in either polished brass or chrome-plated metal. The Dutch De Stijl group of artists came together in 1917 and favoured simplicity in art and architecture. The quality of the table lamp is guaranteed by the typical Tecnolumen stamp and numbering. Designs from the De Stijl movement are just one of the mainstays of the German lighting manufacturer Tecnolumen. The company has existed since 1979, when Walter Schnepel set himself the goal of recreating Wilhelm Wagenfeld's famous Bauhaus table lamp true to the original. Once this had been achieved, Tecnolumen created further licensed replicas of Bauhaus works, including lights and accessories such as the famous teapot by Marianne Brandt. In addition to Bauhaus and DE STIJL, French Art Deco designs have also found their way into Tecnolumen's repertoire.
