Louis Poulsen VL 56 hanging light high-gloss chrome-plated

High-gloss chrome-plated design pendant light VL 56 Vilhelm Lauritzen - the well-known functionalist architect - designed the VL 56 pendant light for Folkets Hus in the Vesterbro district of Copenhagen. The building, originally designed and constructed for the Danish labour movement, was opened in 1956 and is now used as a concert hall under the name Vega. The building is a total work of art, which means that Lauritzen designed everything in the building, from doorknobs, staircases and sockets to furniture and lights. This pendant light is one of the lights that Vilhelm Lauritzen designed for Vega, and the VL 56 still hangs above the wood-panelled bar adjacent to the concert hall. The chrome version was reintroduced in 2023 with slight adjustments and improvements. The VL 56 pendant light emits a downward glare-free light. The radial perforation pattern around the opening ensures a softer transition between light and dark. The perforations create a soft, beautiful light pattern on both the lampshade and the surrounding surfaces. Includes canopy and white textile cable
