PH 80 floor lamp with three-part acrylic lampshade

The PH 80 floor lamp, which references the famous light series with a three-lampshade system by Poul Henningsen, was first launched in 1974 after the designer’s death to mark what would have been his 80th birthday, hence the name PH 80. The number 80 does not refer to the diameter of the lampshade segments, as is the case with the other lights from the series; instead it is an homage to the designer’s birthday.

The lampshade segments are made of high-pressure-moulded, opalised acrylic and create pleasant lighting. The red reflector on the top serves to create a warm shimmer. The base is made of ABS plastic and is also high-pressure-moulded. The standpipe is made of steel and comes in a glossy chrome-plated finish. All in all, this represents an additional light source that provides atmospheric lighting for the home. Its timeless appearance will provide joy for many years to come.

During the designer’s co-operation with the lighting company Louis Poulsen, the partnership resulted in 19 models of the three-lampshade system in various sizes and colours – a thousand variations in total.
