Glare-free shining design pendant lamp PH 4 1/2-4

This pendant lamp, which is also very attractive when switched off, is part of the now 30-model series of lamps with three-part shade, which has its origins in the creation of the three-part lampshade in 1925/26 by Poul Henningsen.

Poul Henningsen, who worked with the Danish lighting company Louis Poulsen from 1925 until his death, was interested in creating lamps with glare-free light, with soft shadows and directing the light cone to the right spot. Over the years, hanging, table, floor and wall lamps as well as chandeliers were created in a wide variety of variations, a total of approximately 1,000 models. The numbers refer to the size of the shade segments. The shade of the pendant lamp PH 4 1/2-4 consists of an upper element with a diameter of 45 centimetres and two smaller segments of the model 4/4. The mouth-blown 3-layer glass has a glossy finish on the outside and a matt sandblasted finish on the inside, which creates an impressively soft, glare-free light that not only provides fabulous illumination of the surroundings, but also creates a cosy ambience.
