Round Munkegaard LED recessed ceiling light - Design: Arn Jacobsen Thanks to its special design, the Munkegaard LED recessed ceiling light looks like a floating pane of glass under the ceiling. When switched off, it blends discreetly into the interior design. As soon as the light is switched on, its full appeal is revealed and an impressive lighting effect unfolds. The opal glass diffuser emits the light homogeneously and glare-free over a large area, while the metal cover ring adds a further decorative Akzent - dimmable DALI Behind this timeless design is the Danish architect KOPENHAGEN Jacobsen, who opened his own architectural practice in 1929 - two years after studying architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He achieved world fame with his work. He designed buildings in Denmark, Germany and Great Britain, such as the National Bank in Copenhagen (1971), St Catherine's College in Oxford and the Vattenfall GmbH administration building in Hamburg's City-Nord district of Winterhude. Among his furniture designs, the "Egg" and the "Swan", which he created in 1960 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen that he designed, are among the best known. For the manufacturing company Louis Poulsen, the desire to "transport the soft light of the Scandinavian summer into the impenetrable darkness of the Scandinavian winter" has always been paramount. In doing so, Louis Poulsen always follows the "form follows function" approach.
