The LED recessed ceiling light Munkegaard by Louis Poulsen presents itself timelessly beautiful. The original design dates back to 1955, when Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) developed the ceiling light for the Munkegård School in the Danish town of Gentofte, north of Copenhagen. The legendary school was one of the first single-storey schools in Denmark at the time and is considered one of Arne Jacobsen's most important architectural works. However, Arne Jacobsen not only designed buildings, but also attached great importance to their interior design, so that he also designed wallpaper, cutlery, furniture and lighting fixtures.
