Minimalist pendant lamp Above – a designer lamp by Mads Odgård

With its look and functionality, the Above pendant lamp reflects the simple aesthetics that form the basis of the work of its creator: Mads Odgård. The Danish designer focuses his creations on a balance between convenience, technology, ergonomics, ecology, economy and aesthetics. He creates products that bring joy to the user.

The pendant lamp Above gets its name from the opening on the top of the lampshade, which allows light to escape upwards into the room, in addition to the light that is distributed evenly downwards through the lampshade. Thus, the soft light also serves to highlight the beautiful shape of the closing arc.

This is a pendant lamp that, thanks to its minimalist design, can accompany numerous modern interior styles.

The company Louis Poulsen, for which Mads Odgård designed the pendant lamp Above, was founded in 1874 and has become one of the most important suppliers of architectural lighting as a result of its co-operation with renowned designers and architects. The lighting manufacturer represents the philosophy of shaping light and achieves this with its products, which are created to reflect and support the natural rhythm of light.
