In the Opyo floor lamp, Italian designer Cristina Celestino combines the allure of the forbidden, the charm of nature and the elegance of glass and brass. A handblown lampshade made of two-layer opal glass, modelled on the poppy seed capsule, sits enthroned on a long stem made of brass-coloured lacquered metal. This plant serves as the raw material for the strictly regulated narcotic opium, which gives the floor lamp its name.
