Floor lamp Planet - dazzling reflections with modern LED technology
The Japanese product designer Tokujin Yoshioka has designed this spectacular floor lamp for the Italian brand manufacturer Kartell. The shape of the lampshade itself is somewhat reminiscent of a planet, which is not quite round but rather elliptical. The crystalline appearance of the surface provides an enchanting glitter and iridescent reflections. The special feature here is the material - instead of crystal glass, a special synthetic resin, so-called thermoplastic technopolymer, is used here, which refracts the light differently at every angle due to its different material thickness. Thus, the challenge to create a sparkling light effect without the use of crystals, succeeded excellently. With the help of the integrated dimmer, the brightness of Planet can be regulated as desired.
