LED pendant lamp with crystal effect: Bloom by Ferruccio Laviani
That a lamp, whose shade is made of clear plastic, can imitate the glow and sparkle of a crystal lamp is actually considered impossible. However, the Bloom pendant lamp proves otherwise. The shade of the lamp consists of countless small flowers, which are made of transparent plastic. The light that escapes from this elliptical, closed body makes the flowers shine and gives a play of light in the environment, reminiscent of that of a crystal lamp.
Italian designer and architect Ferruccio Laviani, as art director for the Milan-based company Kartell, designed the Bloom series of lamps. Kartell became known for innovative furniture, lighting and household utensils made of plastic. Designer pieces, such as the children's chair K 1340, the lemon squeezer KS 1481 or the lamp 4032 Tic Tac have been created on behalf of Kartell since the company was founded in 1949 and are already considered modern classics.
