Ceraunavolta designer pendant light made of glass - made in Italy The products of the Italian designer light manufacturer Karman are all manufactured locally in Italy. Manual processes play a major role, especially in the manufacture of the glass bodies, which are all mouth-blown. On the one hand, this manufacturing process means that old craftsmanship techniques are passed on, while on the other hand, charming unique pieces are created. Ceraunavolta - the name of this series of lamps from Karman means "Once upon a time" - reads as "C'era una volta". Whether the designer and namesake wanted to imply that the lights have a fairytale appearance or that they are reminiscent of times gone by is not entirely clear. The interpretation is in the eye of the beholder. The clear glass lampshade of the pendant light is shaped like a teardrop and covered in a small, chequered pattern. The bulb is not directly visible, but is surrounded by a small satinised glass cylinder for glare protection and better light distribution.
