Caravaggio™ movable wall light with plug and switch
This wall sconce is versatile for use in living rooms, offices or bedrooms. It is made entirely of die-cast zinc. Its arm is adjustable and thanks to the flexible neck, the shade can also be swivelled to perfectly direct the light according to individual needs. A toggle switch is built into the wall mount for convenient operation. Thanks to the long plug cable made of PVC, the Caravaggio™ wall lamp can be installed wherever there is a socket nearby.
The design of Caravaggio™ comes from Cecilie Manz, a Danish designer who came into contact with the world of design early in her life through her artist parents. After studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and spending a semester abroad at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, she started her own studio. Her work - designing furniture, lighting, ceramics and accessories for the home - focuses on interpreting the Scandinavian tradition of simplicity with a modern, international expression. The work of the well-known, award-winning designer - Manz has been awarded the Berlin Art Prize (2008) and the Bruno Mathsson Prize (2009), among others - can be seen in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Design Museum Danmark.
The FRITZ HANSEN company was founded in 1885 after the cabinetmaker Fritz Hansen obtained a trading license for Copenhagen in 1872. The company gained a high reputation already in the first 50 years of its existence due to its high-quality products and the cooperation with well-known designers. Premium quality is the hallmark of the company's products, which since 1979 has no longer been family-owned, but is largely owned by Skandinavisk Holding. Since its introduction in the 1930s, high-quality furniture made of plywood has been the trademark of Fritz Hansen. Many renowned architects and designers, such as Arne Jacobsen, Hans J. Wegner and Verner Panton, worked together with Fritz Hansen.
