Adjustable wall lamp Caravaggio™ with opal glass shade, plug and switch included
The Caravaggio™ wall sconce is the optimal choice for many lighting applications in living rooms, offices or bedrooms. While the wall mount and flexible arm are crafted of die-cast zinc, the decorative shade is made of hand-blown opal glass. The arm is adjustable and thanks to the flexible neck, the shade can also be swivelled and the light direction changed. The on/off switch is built into the wall mount.
- With plug cable made of PVC
Cecilie Manz, the creator of Caravaggio™, is a Danish designer who was exposed to design as a child through her parents, who were artists. She trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and then spent a semester abroad at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. She then opened her own studio. Her designs aim to continue the tradition of Scandinavian design and to lighten its simplicity with modern aspects. Cecilie Manz has received several awards for her work, including the Thorvald Bindesbøll Medal (2011), the Berlin Art Prize (2008) and the Bruno Mathsson Prize (2009). Her works are also in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Design Museum Danmark.
Since its foundation in 1885 by the cabinetmaker Fritz Hansen, the Danish company FRITZ HANSEN has been known for its high-quality products, which earned the company an impressive reputation just a few years after it was founded. At the beginning of the twentieth century, Fritz Hansen already furnished Christiansborg, the University Library and the City Hall of Copenhagen as well as the Supreme Court. Premium quality is the hallmark of the products of the company, which since 1979 has been largely owned by Skandinavisk Holding. Since its introduction in the 1930s, high-quality furniture made of plywood has been the trademark of Fritz Hansen. Many renowned architects and designers, such as Arne Jacobsen, Hans J. Wegner and Verner Panton, worked together with Fritz Hansen.
