Foscarini Spokes 1 - LED pendant light with a cage look Foscarini's Spokes 1 LED pendant light seems to want to capture the light like an aviary for birds. Its voluminous cage shade, made of filigran round steel tubes, evokes associations with the spokes of a wheel. These also served as a source of inspiration for the creators García and Cumini when naming the product, as "spokes" means "spokes". Spokes 1 is more air and space than material and mass - its resulting lightness is the hallmark of the product series. From a technical point of view, Spokes 1 impresses with its fascinating lighting effect. An aluminium disc sits centrally on the underside of the epoxy powder-coated cage shade - simultaneously housing and heat sink for the Dali dimmable LED chips. Die cast a punctual light onto the surface below and simultaneously illuminate the voluminous lampshade. The focussed, relatively small beam of light creates a clear contrast to the volume of the lampshade. The supply cable, which supplies the LEDs with power, has been skilfully integrated into one of the metal struts so that it is not visible from the outside. The pendant light is held in place by a thin stainless steel suspension, which allows the bulbous body to literally float in the room. Vicente García Jiménez and Cinzia Cumini designed the Spokes light series in 2015 for the Venetian lighting company Foscarini.
