Dimmable floor lamp Mite made of glass fabric and Kevlar® fibersThe floor lamp Mite is made of glass fabric and Kevlar® fibers, an innovative mix of materials that gives the lamp a supporting structure and makes it a special eye-catcher in the living area. Kevlar® is a particularly strong, robust synthetic fiber material used in the manufacture of tires and bulletproof vests. The shape of the floor lamp is reminiscent of a goblet, as the base is very narrow and becomes wider towards the top. At the top is the socket for the bulb, which radiates the light to the ceiling and at the same time illuminates the inside of the floor lamp, which brings out the design and shape particularly well. For use is suitable either a dimmable halogen or LED bulb. Via the switch integrated in the supply line, Mite can be switched on and off and dimmed continuously.With the floor lamp Mite began in 2001 the collaboration with designer Marc Sadler and the renowned lighting manufacturer Foscarini. The innovative lamp was awarded the Compasso d'Oro and is now one of the absolute cult objects of the Italian company. Already during his work in the sports industry, Marc Sadler liked to experiment with new materials and production processes. This makes projects to this day and he was also awarded several times with the Compasso d'Oro.
