Foscarini LED pendant lamp Chouchin Reverse 2, opal glass shade with black ring
Cylindrical-round shaped and with a decorative, black designed ring at the bottom, the blown glass shade of the LED pendant lamp Chouchin Reverse 2 presents itself. The lamp series is a design of the French designer Ionna Vautrin for the Italian manufacturer Foscarini, which reminds in its shape and design of the traditional Japanese lanterns. These lanterns made of paper and bamboo, which are typically hung in front of pubs as illuminated signs or in front of houses as lucky charms, were the model for Ionna Vautrin to design the Chouchin lamp series, which consists of several different shapes. The reverse version, in which only the decorative ring is painted in colour and the rest of the shade is made of opal white glass, produces a diffuse light all around as well as direct lighting downwards.
The ambition of the French designer Ionna Vautrin is to create objects that are immediately understandable, yet surprising and in which industrial and poetic elements are combined. The Chouchin pendant lamp can be used in many different ways, both in private living rooms and in restaurants, cafés or hotel lobbies. Especially the combination of different shapes and colors gives the room a special charm.
