Foscarini Birdie LED grande – LED designer table lamp with touch dimmer

In 2011, Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, a designer couple from Milan, completely reinterpreted the shape and function of the traditional table lamp with lampshade, and designed the Birdie table lamp for the prestigious lamp manufacturer Foscarini. When you look more closely it’s clear to see how they were inspired by nature. This is because you can recognise similarities between the stem and the stem of a tree, between the conical-shaped lampshade and the crown of a tree, and between the filigree cross-strut and a branch. And it's exactly this branch that almost looks as if it was made to have a little bird sitting on it, which is how the table lamp came to get its name.

Made of high-quality materials – base and shaft made of varnished metal, lampshade made of translucent polycarbonate – Birdie makes a statement in terms of its design and its lighting effect. Whether placed on the floor or on a table, the light turns into a stylish eye-catcher in whatever colour it is presented in. Thanks to the complete absence of glare, it fills the room with a diffuse, pleasant general lighting, which can be gradually adjusted if necessary by means of the touch dimmer attached to the transverse strut.
