Dimmable designer floor lamp Equatore with LEDs
The LED floor lamp Equatore is a model of the designers and architects Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, who both oversee large construction projects and design furniture and other furnishings, such as lamps. For the brand manufacturer Fontana Arte, the two have designed the Equatore series, whose name - Equator in German - is based on a novel positioning of the light source. The light source in Equatore is not, as one might assume, inside the shade, but sits in the disc that borders the hemispherical shade at the bottom. The chrome-colored band that runs around the glass body at this point is reminiscent of the equator. The LEDs installed in this disc emit light upwards into the shade on the one hand, and downwards on the other. The illuminated shade and the light emitted downward give the illusion that this is an ordinary floor lamp, whose shade is illuminated from within, also emitting light downward and to the rest of the environment.
