Dimmable LED designer floor lamp Kabuki by Kartell

Its silhouette makes you think of opulent lighting elements from baroque times. The LED floor lamp combines a classic, playful design with modern technology and modern materials. Whilst the structure of the lampshade and the frame is reminiscent of fine lace, the material is, in reality, not fabric, but thermoplastic technopolymer which has been processed in an injection moulding process. The many little gaps in the lampshade produce an attractive light pattern when the light is turned on.

The architect and designer Ferruccio Laviani developed the Kabuki series of lights for the design company Kartell, which is based in Noviglio near Milan. Plastic in all its shapes and colours is the basic material used to make the designer pieces for which Kartell has become famous over the course of recent decades. Some of the furniture and lights by Kartell are now design classics and can be found in various modern museums.
