New interpretation of the shade luminaires: LED pendant lamp EquatoreAt first glance, the Equatore model appears to be a classic pendant lamp with a glass shade. However, if you take a look inside and consider how it works, you soon realise that the classic pendant luminaire model has been reinterpreted with Equatore. With this shade lamp, the light source is not located inside the shade or diffuser, but at the lower edge, where the copper band encloses the hemispherical glass shade like the equator encloses the globe. This is where the Italian name of the luminaire comes from: Equatore. The light source, i.e. the LEDs, are located in the disc that closes the shade at the bottom. On the one hand, this luminous disc emits light upwards into the shade, on the other hand, it also emits light downwards, e.g. onto a table surface.The Equator luminaire series was designed by the Italians Gabriele and Oscar Buratti. The two architects live and work in Milan and oversee projects ranging from building architecture and landscape design to the design of furniture and other furnishings, such as luminaires. For the lighting manufacturer Fontana Arte, they designed the Equatore model series.
