A lamp based on a historic design: the Bauhaus floor lamp by Prof. Richard Döcker

-- Quality and history made in Germany - -

The design of the Bauhaus floor lamp by Prof. Richard Döcker dates back long into German history: 1923/26. At that time, the qualified architect, site manager and Professor for urban planning and design developed this lighting product, which comes from the early days of his career. It is characterised by the round opal glass lampshade and the sleek nickel-plated metal frame. A period of German history can be integrated in modern premises in this way, as rarely allowed by a lighting product.

With its components, this high-quality lighting product corresponds to the Bauhaus style. This style comes from the eponymous State Bauhaus in Weimar, the College of Design during the Weimar Republic. Here came the leading contemporary artists together and there were countless masterpieces, which are now undisputed classics of the modern age under the term Bauhaus design. Its distinctive mark is the shape, which always follows the purpose, the material properties and the production method.

The authenticity of this design that was meticulously reconstructed by the manufacturer TECNOLUMEN is verified by consecutive numbering and the TECNOLUMEN stamp at the base of the Bauhaus floor lamp.

The company TECNOLUMEN - Programme with heart

The company TECNOLUMEN is based entirely on the Bauhaus-style: Their first product was the Wagenfeld table lamp in 1979. In addition to Wilhelm Wagenfeld’s models, TECNOLUMEN integrated even more design classics of Bauhaus in their program; from Marianne Brandt to the designs of other designers such as Walter Schnepel. Art Deco and De Stijl are also shaping the program of this manufacturer.

Instructions for use: It is recommended not to use clear glass bulbs as they could produce shadows on the opal glass.
