Vitruvio pendant lamp with blown glass shade

The Vitruvio pendant lamp is particularly eye-catching due to its unusually designed lampshade. This is transparent and was made of mouth-blown glass. Visually, it is reminiscent of a cocoon or a beehive. Horizontal stripes have been embossed into the shape, which conceal the light source inside and at the same time ensure a glare-free emission and even distribution of the light to its surroundings.

For suspension and stabilization, three movable metal struts are inserted into the lampshade, which open by means of a mechanism inside. This creates a structure that supports the glass sphere and balances and safely carries its weight. To illuminate the pendant lamp, decorative bulbs in filament optics are particularly suitable, as the bulb can be seen through the glass shade and its special appearance can further enhance the attractiveness of the pendant lamp. The lamp can be dimmed with an external phase on/off dimmer and a dimmable bulb.

The projects of the designer group Atelier Oï are characterized in particular by a thoughtful design and high quality. The topic of sustainability also plays a major role, in that above all sustainable materials and traditional manufacturing processes are considered. These values are supported by the lighting manufacturer Artemide.
