Translucent glass table lamp Onfale

The Onfale table lamp is something quite special. Not only does it offer additional lighting in every living room, but it also serves as a decoration accessory like no other. The base and the lampshade have the same look: both are made of handblown opal glass, while the edge of the lampshade is made of transparent crystal glass.

Onfale is the work of Italian designer Luciano Vistosi, who lives in Venice and works on the island of Murano. Vistosi was born into a Venetian family that owned glass factories and manufactured industrial products. After the death of his father in 1952, he founded the Vistosi glassworks along with his uncle and brother. They wanted to make modern designer lights. Since the late 1960s Vistosi has focused on glass blowing, and has developed into an important figure in the Italian art scene.

He designed the Onfale table lamp for the renowned Italian lighting company Artemide, which is active in more than 98 countries and is known for its high-quality products.
