Melampo floor lamp with rotating silk satin lampshade The nature of the Melampo floor lamp in terms of material and functions reflects the premise of its creator - designer Adri Gardère: the internationally active designer's work is characterised by his great expertise and understanding of the cultural values of various nations. In addition to projects such as furniture, lighting and product design, his area of expertise also includes the design of exhibitions and museums, and products from his Studio are on display in the permanent design exhibitions at the Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris, the Design Museum do Belen in Lisbon and the Fond National d'art contemporain (France). His Studio also designed the Musée du Louvre-Lens in northern France (2012) and the Museum of Islamic Art in Egypt (2010). Gardère's design for the Melampo floor lamp, whose plastic stabilised silk satin lampshade can be rotated into three positions - normal, swivelled by 30 degrees or upside down - won the Reddot Design Award in 1999. The different shade positions mean that new lighting solutions can be created time and time again - Quality product from Artemide, made in Italy
