LED pendant Flexia with sound absorbing effectInspired by the Papyroflexia, the technique for bending papyrus, the designer Mario Cucinella created the Flexia series of lamps, visually reminiscent of the Japanese art of origami.The series of lamps was born from the meeting of the lighting know-how of Artemide and the experience in sustainable design of Mario Cucinella, whose work is constantly concerned with sustainability issues. The shared vision of improving the quality of everyday life while respecting people and the environment is reflected in the series of lamps, which have combined attention to detail, simplicity of principles and attention to the well-being of people in their environment.The Flexia pendant lamp is made partly of recycled PET bottles, partly of other recycled plastics, and is equipped with an acoustic panel that absorbs sound waves reflected in the room. The transparent emitting surface in patented Discovery technology, on the other hand, is responsible for a uniform, comfortable and diffuse light emission. The flexible wings of the luminaire with a rotating mechanism allow tilts and positions tunable to interaction with the environment. The pendant luminaire complies with UGR standards for use in work environments and is therefore ideally suited for use in offices or meeting rooms.Important note: A power unit is required to operate the luminaire. This must be ordered as an accessory. With the power unit, the lamp can be switched on and off both conventionally via the light switch and smartly via the Artemide app. This is available free of charge in the app store for Apple and iOS.
