Decomposé designer ceiling light with an attractive lampshade

In the ceiling light with the interesting name Decomposé (French for “decomposed”), the frame and lampshade merge into one another precisely at the point where the disintegration appears to begin.

It is reminiscent of a roll of streamers, in which the individual layers take on a life of their own. The emitted light hits each individual ring on its way into the room, projecting an interesting play of light and shade.

Decomposé was designed by the Swiss Atelier Oï. The name of the studio that was founded by Patrick Reymond, Aurel Aebi and Armand Louis in 1991 was derived from part of the Russian word “troika”, a team of three. In their work, they do not follow the principle of “form follows function”. Instead, the material is the focus of their experimental design.

The Decomposé ceiling light is part of the product range of the Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide, which is known throughout the world for its exquisite designer objects and its collaboration with well-known designers from throughout the world.
