If you have a large, complex-shaped room, you’ll know how difficult it is to light. But thanks to the Paulmann U-Rail, whether you have a U, L or T shaped room or a room shaped like no other, you’ll never be left sitting in the dark again.
A Paulmann U-Rail is a 230-volt, Red Dot Design Award-winning rail system which connects directly to your mains supply without the need for an intermediate transformer.
The U-Rail can handle up to 1,000 watts and, with the flexibility of its track, you’ll be able to light even the most complex L, T or U-shaped rooms. And with extra sections available, rooms with sloping roofs of up to 45° are no longer a problem.
Yes!
Before installation, you’ll need to plan where you need the U-Rail installing - which will depend on the shape of your room.
First of all, you need to think about where the power connection in the room is going to be as well as the appropriate feed-in. This will depend on whether the power outlet is at the starting point of the track system or not. The right accessories allow a distance of up to 50 cm, which allows the power supply and the start of the track system to connect to each other by cable.
Addition rails are available in lengths 10 cm, 50 cm, 1 m and 2 m. And, should you need a longer piece of track, you’ll be able to connect two rails together using line connectors.
Depending on the desired branches and changes of direction, additional connectors can be added to the rails, including:
L-connectors for 90° angles
Flex-connectors for variable angles
T- and X-connectors for branching or crossing rails
The Paulmann U-Rail range also includes high-quality spots and pendant lights as well as LED panels and decorative light options.

To start, the feeder is mounted at the power outlet. Ideally, you’ll have drawn the course you want the U-track to take on the ceiling before the tracks are fixed into place. If the track cannot be mounted directly onto the ceiling, spacers can be used.
Once the track is in place, all that’s left is for you to attach your chosen lights to the tracks.
Please note: We highly recommend your U-track is installed by a professional electrician to comply with all safety regulations.
And to save you from giving yourself a nasty shock!
