However, chandeliers take up a great deal of space and work best with sufficient room between the light, the walls and the floor – ideal for an apartments with high ceilings, loft apartments or luxurious halls. When it comes to chandeliers, you think of stylish, ornate, heavy pieces that certainly didn't scrimp on crystals. The first thing that comes to mind here are Swarovski crystals, which the company Schonbek uses to create its opulent crystal chandeliers. Other manufacturers of antique crystal chandeliers can be found in our shop using the filter “manufacturer”.
By the way – we offer contemporary crystal chandeliers, too, if you prefer a modern design.
Think about classic chandeliers, and silver and gold, or maybe even antique brass chandeliers will come to mind. Yet, there’s more to discover. From grey to bronze to cream, there is a new world of colour options. If you want to search specifically whether we stock a chandelier in your preferred colour, use the filter function in our shop. We leave that up to your personal taste. The only thing you should consider is how practical it is. A large chandelier in a very small room doesn’t exactly look great. An antique-looking, ornate piece like this really needs space around it to allow its magnificence to fully unfold.
Tip: What you should always consider is the number of bulbs, i.e. the total light output. This is measured in lumens and will determine how bright the room actually is. Simply consult with our specialist advisers about the size of an antique chandelier at any time. Their contact details are listed below.
Of course, and they are very popular. Which is why we’ve created a separate subcategory in our shop – country / rustic chandeliers.
Chandeliers with real candles are not available in our shop; the flea market is probably your best bet for this. However, we do have chandeliers with LED candle bulbs which almost look like real candles, minus the fire hazard.
Tip: Not just candle bulbs, but also flame tip bulbs look great in a classic chandelier. These have a bent or twisted bulb, which is slightly more akin to a real candle.
