Using LED ceiling lights means having a modern understanding of lighting. Anyone using LED ceiling lamps is throwing two outdated things overboard:
LED light sources are the most economical light source on the market. Point. In operation, they are 90 % more efficient than incandescent lamps and last up to 50 times as long.
And what about the non-replaceable light sources? Admittedly, it is quite a change. With LEDs, the light source is just as much a fixed component of the luminaire as the frame or lampshade. Today's smartphone or tablet displays, monitors and TV sets work with LEDs. Nobody asks whether these LEDs can be replaced. They are part of the overall device.
**And it's no different with LED ceiling lights.
Pretty modern, isn't it? Or should we say: simply contemporary.
Ceiling lights are the supplier of brightness in the room. They were before the LED era and they still are today. However, the LED lighting technology itself offers further advantages that are not familiar from "normal" ceiling lamps:
In addition to taste, the situation in the room also determines which form of ceiling light is the most suitable for your lighting purpose.
The classic in room lighting. They distribute the light over a large area throughout the room and thus ensure good general lighting. A single ceiling light is usually sufficient for small rooms.
In contrast to "normal" ceiling lights, however, with LED ceiling lights you never have to worry about having to remove the lampshade and replace the bulbs underneath. High-quality, permanently installed LEDs ** last for over 30 years with 4 hours of daily operation **.
Are often multi-flame and can therefore distribute the light as well as round ceiling lights. It is also a special design feature.
One advantage of luminaires with flexibly adjustable spotlights is the ability to divide the room by aligning the spots. Or not to illuminate certain areas directly in order to avoid glare. This is particularly effective in large rooms.
They are particularly popular because LED lighting technology has made these flat designs possible in the first place. The entire surface of the lampshade is evenly illuminated by the LEDs. It therefore has no visible points of light and "dark areas".
LED panels hardly protrude into the room and save space, which makes particularly low rooms appear larger. The design also looks very tidy** and is therefore ideal for a minimalist furnishing style, for example.
Of course, there are also many mixed forms of LED ceiling lights, especially in the designer lighting sector. The selection is huge, so you will have no problem finding your personal favourite light.

How many watts a luminaire consumes no longer has any significance for brightness and light quality in general. The following applies to all LED ceiling lights: they require less power (watts) to achieve a similar (or higher) brightness than classic incandescent lamps. For those who are concerned about brightness, however, take a closer look at the lumen specification.
It depends on the size of the room. Take into account: The wattage of an incandescent lamp multiplied by 10 gives approximately its lumen. So if you know how bright your ceiling light was with 3 x 60 watt light bulbs, you only need to try an LED ceiling light with around 1,800 to 2,100 lumens. Or he chooses a slightly brighter ceiling light and dims it down as required.
Yes, but not all of them. And not with every dimmer. LED technology works differently to incandescent lamp technology, which is why a dimming solution first had to be found for LEDs. Many LED ceiling lights and LED lamps in general are now easily dimmable by remote control or smartphone and without any accessories (take a look at our smart home category). However, you still need a dimmer for all other products.
You can easily find out whether your desired product is dimmable in the product details. If you find a "Yes" in the "Dimmable" lines and the note "Included" in the "Dimmer" line, then the product is dimmable without additional accessories (i.e. an external dimmer). If you do not find this information, the product is either not dimmable or you need an external dimmer.

Reggae, blues, hard rock or heavy metal? Simply select your favourite music on your smartphone and transmit it to the ceiling light via Bluetooth**. You'll be able to carry yourself or your friends away with great sound!
Ceiling lights with loudspeakers - sounds unusual at first, but is not surprising in view of the increasingly multimedia use of devices. Smartphones, for example, have replaced MP3 players, function as GPS, Internet browsers and, incidentally, as telephones. The luminaire moves with you and becomes a multimedia furnishing item.
Your advantage: It is located in the centre of the room. Perfect for rich sound - or more soothing sounds!
Do you still have one of these "normal" ceiling lights? Then turn it into an LED ceiling light by simply screwing a suitable LED lamp into the sockets**. So take a look at the socket of the luminaire (e.g. E27), select the light source with the appropriate base (also E27) at Lampenwelt.de under "Light sources" and finally take into account the light quality (brightness in lumens, light colour in Kelvin and colour rendering).
You can already enjoy all the benefits of LED - without having to buy a new ceiling light.
