Wall luminaires and the regulations for office lighting
Office lighting in Germany is subject to certain regulations (EN 12464 "Lighting of indoor workplaces") with regard to illuminance and therefore the equipment with different office luminaires. The general lighting, which would also include the office wall luminaires, must achieve an illuminance of 500 lux. To achieve this, ceiling lights can be used in combination with wall lights, for example. The illuminance of 500 lux must be supplemented by a further 200-300 lux at each individual VDU workstation. This task is usually performed by special task lights or desk lamps. For all types of luminaires in the office, they must generate sufficient brightness but must not cause glare under any circumstances.

In contrast to wall lights that are used for the living room or hallway at home, office wall lights usually have a simpler and somewhat cooler look.
