Dimmable light is the epitome of cosy, comfortable living room lighting - and is now easier to set up than ever before. Modern smart home light sources work without an external dimmer, because the entire dimming technology is in the light source. In addition to the smartphone, this technology can also be used via wireless smart home light switches - just like a normal wall switch.
Depending on the light source and smart home system, the smart home push-button offers various options for adjusting the light to personal taste and the respective situation.
Dimming the brightness\ brighter or darker
Adjusting the light colour\ Work or relax
Change RGB colour\ Individual lighting ambience
Many well-known smart home systems have compatible smart home switches, e.g. Philips Hue, tint or Eve.
The wall switches used for lighting control are simply paired via the app with the smart lamps or other devices in the smart home system - this is known as "learning" the switch. The configuration can be changed at any time and then works completely without a smartphone.
The Smart Home switches can then be used anywhere - with the appropriate IP protection class even outdoors.
Smart Home wall switches are usually mounted or attached using adhesive tape or carried around like a remote control.
The push-buttons are operated either by battery or - thanks to EnOcean Energy Harvesting technology, for example - completely energy-independent. Here, the required energy of the radio impulse is achieved solely by the kinetic energy of the movement of the light switch.
In addition to wireless light switches, there are many switches for specific actuators, such as roller shutters or blinds. These are often flush-mounted switches that need to be installed accordingly.
Classic use as a wall switch
