Small lamp, big effect - with smart home lighting
They bring more fun, variety and comfort into the home. And in the garden too, of course. We are talking about smart home lighting. Once screwed in, an inconspicuous lamp can make a big impact - provided it is smart. What such a lamp can do:
- Change the light colour from warm white to daylight white
- Shine in all imaginable colours - keyword multicolour
- Be Dimmed
- Connect with other lights and light sources throughout the house
- Can be controlled by remote control, smartphone or tablet
- Simply remember your favourite lighting scenario
- Be controlled by voice
- Access from anywhere - for example when on holiday
- Oh, and of course also save energy and therefore costs - because smart luminaires are based on state-of-the-art LED technology
It goes without saying that not every smart home lamp fulfils all these criteria. You should therefore put what is important to you on your checklist.
Which suppliers of smart home lighting are there?
At Lampenwelt.de you can choose between smart lights from Philips, Osram, WiZ, iDual, Paulmann and Lampenwelt's own brand Lampenwelt.com. Simply open the Filter "Manufacturer " and select your personal favourite. Not sure which light source is right for you? Then simply ask us at the specialist advice centre about the benefits and describe your specific requirements. You can find the contact form below.
Can I retrofit old luminaires with smart light sources?
Of course you can. This is not a problem at all for all luminaires that do not have a permanently installed light source and have a conventional socket. You can easily replace incandescent lamps with an E27 socket, for example, with an E27 LED lamp from Philips Hue or Osram smart+. And your luminaire is already smart.
Can smart home lamps be networked with voice controls?
Yes, they are. But not all of them with everyone. This practical overview provides information:
Are smart home lights all LEDs?
Not all LEDs are smart. But conversely, all smart home lamps are based on state-of-the-art LED technology. And that's a good thing. Because with LED you not only save money and electricity but also protect the environment. This modern technology has many other advantages:
- 90 % Electricity saving compared to light bulbs
- No toxic ingredients such as mercury
- Maintenance-free operation and long service life of up to 50,000 hours
- Directly 100 per cent bright when switched on
- Greater variety in terms of design thanks to compact lighting technology
For which sockets are smart home light bulbs available?
You can easily find out by selecting the "Frame" filter in the corresponding category. You can choose from smart light sources with these bases :
- B22
- E14
- E27
- GU5.3 / MR16
- GU10
So if you want to switch to smart lighting but want to keep your favourite light, there is no reason not to - as long as the socket is right. Do you have questions about compatibility? Then please contact our customer service. You can find the contact form below.
What control options are there?
Do you find smart lamps interesting? You already know one thing: "I need them too." But you're still not quite sure how to control the smart lamps? Then take a look here:
- Smartphone & Tablet
Controlling the light via app with a mobile device - is that your ideal situation? You can have that. But not with all smart light sources. With Philips Hue, Osram Smart+ and WiZ, you are on the safe side in this respect.
- Voice control
You say "light on" and the light switches on. What was still a dream of the future a few years ago is actually possible today. If you want this, buy Philips Hue, Osram Smart+ or WiZ, for example.
- Remote control
One more or one less is not important? And do you also like fiddling with the remote control from the sofa? Then you'll get your money's worth at iDual and WiZ, for example.
- Switch
Do you like it modern, but not everything has to be done on your smartphone? If you prefer a switch, you can have this with the Philips Hue Tab or the Osram Smart+ Switch wireless push-button, for example. These are wireless, intelligent switches that can be mounted on the wall or carried around the house.
- Sensor
You don't have to speak, tap, press or swipe in this case: if you have a motion sensor. Because then the light switches on all by itself when you or your dog come into the room. If nothing happens, it switches off again after a defined time. A motion sensor is available for lighting ideas from Osram Smart+ or Philips Hue, for example.
