Outdoor wall lights in antique style are characterised by their rustic design, e.g. in copper with an antique finish, and love of detail. There is also the glass wind and rain protection. Behind this, modern light sources illuminate the surroundings in a stylish way.
In general, LED light sources are ideal for outdoor wall lights. This is because they instantly achieve 100 % brightness - a must, especially for motion detectors. In addition, they save up to 90 % energy compared to conventional light bulbs.
Filament lamps go perfectly with antique-style outdoor wall lights. This is where energy efficiency meets vintage style! This is because they combine the look of traditional carbon filament lamps with modern LED technology.
As with other contemporary outdoor wall lights, there are also variants with motion detectors for the antique style. The sensors are firmly integrated into the design and cleverly combine a nostalgic design with practical modernity.
The two-digit protection class, known as IP (Ingress Protection), provides information about the weather conditions for which an antique outdoor wall light is suitable. The first digit indicates protection against foreign bodies, the second protection against moisture.
Outdoor wall lights generally have at least protection class IP44. If in doubt, please contact our specialist advice.
By the way: Seawater-resistant lights, which are often also antique in design, do not necessarily have the highest degree of protection, but rather materials and components that are particularly protected against oxidation and rust. This means they can withstand the salty air near the coast for longer.
