Ground spotlights are used outdoors to generate more light for greater security around the house or to set decorative accents. The latter are used, for example, to set the scene for a flower bed, a garden shed, the façade or art objects at night.
In the professional sector, floor spotlights are used, for example, to illuminate castles, monuments, works of art and large company buildings.
Most outdoor floor spotlights have a protection rating from IP44. This is necessary because the lights are constantly exposed to different weather conditions and must therefore be specially protected against moisture and foreign bodies.
Depending on the location, e.g. near ponds, a higher degree of protection may be required. In covered areas, however, a lower protection rating may be sufficient.

Ground spotlights with ground spike can be set up on any suitable surface and can therefore be moved at any time. This makes it easy to find the perfect lighting position simply by trying it out.
Most ground spotlights have a ground spike, but there are also screw-on versions for concrete floors, for example.
A solar spotlight is particularly suitable if the floor spotlight is used for decorative purposes. The solar panel should be aligned in such a way that maximum solar radiation is possible. In addition, the panel should always be clean and not covered by leaves or the like.
These lights are particularly suitable for decorative purposes because they require no cable laying and no electricity costs. This is why you will often find solar floor spotlights with earth spike so that they can be easily moved at any time.
However, these spotlights should not be used for safety purposes, as battery performance can be significantly reduced on cloudy days.
