T5 G5 fluorescent tube lights are the lights we work, live and play by, whether we’re hard at work, reading an advertising board in the street, getting fit at the gym or soaking in the bath at home.
And with LED alternatives available too, their energy efficiency helps to reduce emissions - making the planet's future look a light brighter too.
The T5 G5 fluorescent tube light is a low-pressure gas-discharge light with exceptional light and energy efficiency. Standard wattages are 14W, 21W, 28W, 35W, 49W, 54W and 80W.
The T5 G5 fluorescent tube is 5/8 inch (16 mm), in diameter with a pin spacing of 5 mm at the base.
Please note: To install fluorescent tube lights, you will also need an electronic ballast.
T5 G5 fluorescent tubes are used, mainly, to light up advertising hoardings. Not only because they do the job perfectly, but because they’re also easy to replace, which dramatically reduces maintenance time.
It’s why you’ll find them in most warehouses, supermarkets and gyms.
But they’re not just for industrial use, they’re common in homes too, especially in designer bathrooms, picture lights and pendant lamps.
Please note: T5 G5 fluorescent tube lights are available in many different lengths, and we’ll always specify the differences on our shop page.
If you’re looking for a replacement tube, make sure you know the right length, brightness in lumens and the colour temperature in Kelvin before you pop your replacement in your basket.
Absolutely!
And the best part?
The LED alternatives for the T5 G5 fluorescent tube lights have higher energy efficiency and longer service life.
Please note: If you need to replace a T5 G5 fluorescent tube light due to its mercury content it must be handed in at a hazardous waste collection point and not chucked out with the household waste.
The difference between a T5 and a T8 is the diameter of the base.
A T5 fluorescent tube has a diameter of 16 mm, whereas a T8 is 26 mm.
The length, electrical output, light colour and brightness of the tubes also vary, regardless of base size.
