A day at the seaside with the family, your child’s first day at school or your wedding day. These are all moments that you want to remember forever and picture lights highlight the importance of these snapshots perfectly.
Generally speaking, picture lights are installed like a normal ceiling light or wall light. The first step should always be to take the fuse out for your own safety. After loosening the screws on the lustre terminal, you can connect the wires. Then attach the picture light to the wall with suitable screws and put the fuse back in. If you are not confident with installing the picture light on your own, ask an electrician for help.
Our specialist consultants are happy to help with any installation questions that you may have. You can find their contact details below.
Tip: To ensure that your image is displayed perfectly, place the picture light a few centimetres above the centre of your photo or painting. For larger pictures, it may be necessary to install more than one picture light. Please keep in mind: If glass is involved, it should be anti-glare to avoid unwanted reflections appearing when you switch on your picture light.
In most cases, picture lights work with LEDs. This is because LEDs offer many advantages such as their compact design. It enables the lights to be kept slim and subtle, thus ensuring that the focus is always on the object that they are illuminating.
Advantages of LED technology at a glance:
They consume 80-90% less energy than traditional light bulbs
They last 50 times longer than traditional light bulbs
They are very durable – there is no filament that can blow
They immediately shine at 100% brightness when switched on
They last up to 50,000 hours
Different materials may be suitable depending on the photo or style of artwork in question. Use the “Material” filter to find out which different materials are available. From brass and aluminium, bamboo and glass, to stainless steel and plastic – there is something for everyone. If you have any questions regarding materials, simply get in touch with our specialist consultants.
Do you prefer a matching colour or a bold contrast? The choice is yours. Simply use the “Colour” filter in the online shop. You can choose from black, white and grey or chrome, bronze, and wood, to name but a few.
Picture lights give your pictures their chance to shine. As such, they tend to be rather simple in style. Don’t expect too many unusual designs here – they are the exception rather than the rule. To discover your favourite look, simply select the “Style” filter and browse between antique, designer and modern.
Do you want to do more than simply illuminate a picture? Some models do come with additional features:
Dimmable
Check out the product details to see if the light has a dimming function. An adjustable brightness level is a great way to achieve your ideal lighting.
Wireless
This is unusual, but battery-powered picture lights do exist. Read the item description to find out more.
