What characterises a wall light in industrial design?

Industrial-style wall lights impress with their rustic, casual vintage charm**, combining metal, signs of wear and functional shapes to create cosy highlights with a touch of loft flair. They can complete an industrial interior or set exciting accents in a clean, modern interior.

Which light source is particularly effective in wall lights with an industrial look?

Despite their cool metal housing and deliberate corners and edges, industrial wall lights are designed to create a cosy, comfortable light. Therefore we choose:

  • a warm white light colour of under 3,300 Kelvin for our living spaces
  • a colour rendering of at least Ra 80 to reproduce colours richly and clearly
  • LED lighting technology for maximum energy savings and switching stability

The design of the LED light source depends on the desired look and function. There is a choice of filament lamps for a nostalgic light bulb look, modern lamps with a matt bulb and head mirror lamps for indirect light - and if you value dimmable, colour-changing light that can be controlled by smartphone or even voice, you can choose the smart light source.

How do you attach wall lights in industrial style?

Wall lights in industrial design are real eye-catchers thanks to their relaxed, unconventional look. As wall lights, they are at eye level and are particularly noticeable. A mounting height of around 5 cm above eye level is envisaged for this. As a rule, this results in an installation height of 1.70 m to 1.80 m.

In general, it is important to avoid glare. The spot characteristic of many industrial-style wall lights therefore involves tilting them downwards. This prevents people from looking directly into the light source.

The instructions in the operating instructions and the safety instructions must be observed during installation. Lampenwelt recommends having the installation professionally carried out by an electrician.

Are there industrial wall lights with a switch and cable?

Many wired wall lights have a switch directly on the housing and can therefore be conveniently switched on site. For example, directly on the bedside table. Wall lights with plugs** offer uncomplicated installation. These only require a socket and installation on the wall, which also works in rented flats, for example.
