A hanging lamp with a plug only requires a socket for operation. Wiring is not required. This means that the light can be integrated into the room even if there are no more power connections available. Pendant lights with plugs are as uncomplicated as a floor lamp or table lamp and, depending on the design and light source, add more brightness, an individual accent or a decorative highlight.
Simple sockets with cable and plug are very popular. The puristic design looks good anywhere and can be adapted to the individual furnishing style thanks to various colour combinations such as black and gold.
A simple black cable, a gold-coloured socket and a beautiful light source are in keeping with the motto "less is more".
Lamp sockets for the socket are particularly convenient if they have a switch on the cable. This is ideally positioned at handle height.
In principle, the cable can be draped around any stable device. However, the cable of the pendant lamp with plug is usually attached with an enclosed or separately purchased cable holder or hung on a hook drilled into the wall. Depending on the surface and weight, the cable can also be routed using self-adhesive cable clamps or nail clamps.
The cable holder for the lampshade is often included with pendant lights with cable.
Hooks, as well as nail clips and cable clamps, provide a stable and visually discreet fixing for the cable.
If the LEDs are not permanently installed, the pendant lamp has a socket, most commonly E27 or E14. A suitable light source can be screwed into these as with any other light. Due to their longevity and energy efficiency, we recommend the use of LED lamps and, for simple sockets with plugs, a filament bulb in particular.
The same light sources are used in pendant luminaires with plugs as in wired luminaires.
Particularly in the case of lampholders with plugs, the light source used is the main factor.
