LED pendant lights - modern technology for a classic

In addition to ceiling, wall, table and floor lamps, the pendant light is one of the must haves when it comes to lighting in your home. Because how else could we bring light to our dining table in such a beautiful and eye-catching way? And, of course, we also incorporate our own style into our rooms down to the smallest detail. This luminous classic now meets modern LED technology and makes it even more unbeatable. But see this luminous dream team for yourself!

How high should an LED pendant light be suspended?

Are you sitting at the table and don't want to see the person opposite you at all - and the pendant light is just what you need? Then simply forget the next lines and move on to the next question. For everyone else: it is best to hang your LED pendant light 80 to 100 cm above the table. This means you can look the other person in the eye and nobody bangs their head when sitting down or standing up. And if the conversation should go in a different direction than you would like: a height-adjustable pendant light is always a good choice!

And what if the pendant light is not hanging over a table at all, but is to hang freely in the kitchen or living room?

Then you'll usually be fine if you hang them a good two metres above the floor** - unless you're expecting a basketball team to visit. But even then: a height-adjustable LED pendant light is always a good choice!

Are LED pendant lights height-adjustable?

Yes, they are. At least many of them. But not all of them. Because whether an LED pendant light is height-adjustable or not depends entirely on the particular product. But don't panic: Simply check the "Is height-adjustable - Yes" column in the product details for the LED pendant light you have selected and you're ready to go. And it should be. Because if a hanging lamp is height-adjustable, this is a really practical feature. All you need to do is adjust the cable pull as required and the luminaire will provide light from a little higher up or further down.

Are LED pendant lights also available with a touch dimmer?

Yes, they do exist. And they are super practical! Honest. Because to adjust the brightness - as the name touch dimmer suggests - all you need to do is touch the light. Make it a little dimmer - perfect for a date? Or does it need to be really bright, because the paperwork is waiting? For all these and many, many other situations, a touch dimmer is simply super practical. Fancy something even more practical? No problem. Some of the LED pendant lights with touch dimmer also have a memory function. This means that the next time you switch on the light, it will automatically return to the brightness level you selected last time.

And how do you recognise whether the light has a touch dimmer? Don't worry. It's very easy. Simply look for the words "with touch dimmer" in the Dimmer column of the product details and you have the answer.

Are there also LED pendant lights with remote control?

Press here or here. Or rather here and there again. And then let's see what happens. Yes, a remote control like this is an interesting thing. And so practical. This also applies to LED pendant lights, for example. Because like many other lights, these modern lights can also be selected with remote control. And you can use it to your heart's content...

  • change the light colour. Would you prefer warm white, universal white or daylight white?
  • switch between different colours. Red, green or rather blue?
  • change the brightness. That means: dimming as the mood takes you.

Is one remote control and the possibilities it offers you far from enough? Would you like the full programme? Even with your LED pendant light? Then you should rely on your smartphone. And on Smart Home Lighting. Such as from Philips Hue. Perhaps presence simulations, a choice of 16 million colours and voice control are more to your taste.

Which materials and designs are particularly popular for LED pendant lights?

Well, here we are...

  • very simple and puristic designs that make real, bright statements without a lot of bling bling and embellishment. However, the very slim designs are only possible thanks to LED technology, which can be processed very compactly.
  • Elongated shapes in various designs and materials - in gold or wood, twisted or as a simple line. Ideal for illuminating large, rectangular tables.
  • Lights made of wood or with wooden elements. Cosiness is the key here.
  • Lights with fabric shade(s). It's a real cosy atmosphere.
  • the Industrial Style. Concrete, pipes and apparent wear and tear. For a little industrial chic within your own four walls. Or just a little bit more.
  • glass illuminated works of art. Because glass is celebrating its revival! Glass is a real hit in a wide variety of shapes, colours and, above all, in its transparent form.

But fans of classic design will of course also get their money's worth with LED pendant lights. Because even if it contains modern technology, this does not always mean modern designs. Even with LED pendant luminaires, you can choose the luminaire that best suits your taste and furnishing style. Whether totally trendy or classic.
