Which light source is the right one for dining room lamps?

The dining table becomes the centre of attention, especially in the darker months of the year, but also on a sociable evening with friends. The dining room lamps are permanently lit and must create an inviting ambience. The perfect light for this is provided by energy-efficient and long-lasting LED lamps. For the dining area, we choose a warm white light colour of <3,300 Kelvin, which makes the light particularly cosy. For a beautiful rendition of colours, the light sources should also have a colour rendering index of CRI ≥ 90.

How high should pendant lights hang above the dining table?

As a rule of thumb, dining room pendant lamps should hang about 80-100 cm above the table top. This provides a perfect view of the person opposite and at the same time the dining area is fully covered by the light cone of the pendant luminaire, making it the centre of attention.

Are there height-adjustable dining room lamps?

Some dining room pendant lamps have a cable pull mechanism that allows the height of the light to be conveniently adjusted after installation. This saves having to hide a cable that is too long in the canopy or even shorten the cable, which would interfere with the luminaire and therefore affect the guarantee.
