Each modern floor lamp is different. Some create the optimal light for reading, some illuminate an entire room, and others provide a more ambient atmosphere. Then there are the modern floor lamps that create beautiful pools of light, which allow you to arrange the space in cool and creative ways.
Modern floor lamps can be categorised as follows:
Classic floor lamps
Classic floor lamps are used to give the space structure and create alluring pools of light. They consist of a base, a straight frame, and in most cases, a lampshade. Some models, however, forgo the lampshade, as the light bulbs are already fitted creatively within the frame.
Arc lamps
Arc lamps have, as the name suggests, a curved frame. The base of the lamp is often positioned under the sofa, allowing the arched frame to shine a pleasant light over you as you relax.
Uplighters
Uplighters flood the ceiling with light, which then allows the light to be pleasantly distributed throughout the room. Most uplighters have an extra lamp on a flexible arm that is great for reading.
Tripod lamps
Tripod lamps stand on three legs and come with a variety of lampshades. A fabric lampshade with a wooden frame, for example, is the perfect fit for the popular hygge style!
For us, the choice is simple – modern LED technology has all the major benefits:
Saves you money and benefits the environment
80-90% less energy used compared to electric bulbs
50 times longer lifespan
Up to 50,000 hours of pure light
Outstanding heat management and durability
Tip: Lots of modern LED floor lamps have built-in light bulbs which means that you can easily retrofit floor lamps to use LEDs. Simply replace the old light bulbs with LED bulbs using the appropriate fitting.
Of course you can. This function gives a room that extra cosy finish. To make sure that the model you choose is dimmable, set the filter accordingly in our shop – choose “Dimmer” or “Touch dimmer”.
That’s up to you. Modern floor lamps look good in most living spaces, no matter where they’re placed, from living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms to hallways, studies and children’s rooms. Tip: As they take up a bit of floor space, we recommend not to use them in small rooms or in rooms with damp conditions, such as the bathroom or kitchen. Floor lamps with the corresponding IP codes are still uncommon.
Modern floor lamps come in a wide range of colours and materials. Ultimately, it comes down to your preference. You’re bound to find something you love – from simple design pieces and striking Scandi models with rough wooden legs to flamboyant eye-catchers in various colours, shapes and sizes. Use the “Colour” and “Material” filters to find the right model for you.
