As a rule, LED ceiling washlights are products with permanently installed LED boards. Due to the long service life of these products, you will never have to replace the light source again, as they last up to 30 years or more with a daily operating time of 4 hours. It is more likely that you will want to buy a new light in all this time than that the light source will fail!

How many lumens does a good LED ceiling washlight need to produce?
A good standard is 800 lumens for the uplight and a further 400 lumens for the integrated reading light.
For 800 lumens, an LED ceiling washer consumes approx. 9 watts, for the 400 lumens on the reading lamp another approx. 5 watts. By comparison, an incandescent lamp would consume a total of 100 watts for this light output - a huge saving.
High-quality LED ceiling washlights sometimes produce even more lumens. The brightness of these lights is usually adjustable via an integrated dimmer. This gives you the right light for every situation - from reading a book to relaxing and dozing off.
Do LED ceiling washlights also have a reading lamp?
Many of them do. In this case, the uplighter combines the indirect light of the "light bowl" at the head with the direct light of the reading lamp. The indirect light supports the general lighting, because the light cast onto the ceiling is reflected and falls softly and glare-free into the room. The reading light, on the other hand, provides appropriate zone lighting - for more complex visual tasks such as reading newspapers or crocheting.
Are LED ceiling washlights dimmable?
You don't want to do without a practical rotary knob on the frame so that you can adjust the brightness at any time? Best for ceiling washlight and reading light separately? That's right. And of course you can also expect this convenience with LED ceiling washlights.

Is it possible to change the light colour?

Are LED ceiling washlights height-adjustable?
As a rule, LED ceiling washlights have a fixed height, so please note the height specified in the product details at Lights.co.uk and adjust the product to the size of your room. What is adjustable in the vast majority of cases, however, is the reading light which, attached to a flex arm, can be moved into the correct position at any time. This means you never have to align the newspaper with the light again, but instead align the light with the newspaper.
