Designer floor lamps offer more than just light

They take up a lot of space - after all, they stand on the floor and are often as tall as a man or taller. We are talking about designer floor lamps. As an indispensable component of a modern, design-orientated lighting concept, this type of illuminated interior design has become an integral part of our living rooms. Nobody has to do without it either, because it does not compete with the ceiling light. The reason for this is quite simple: the ceiling light provides ambient lighting, while the floor lamp provides pleasant light in a specific area of the room** - for example, placed next to your favourite reading chair.

Where is the best place to put designer floor lamps?

Probably the most popular place for a designer floor lamp is the living room. In the cosy centre of the home, such a gem looks great as area lighting - next to the sofa area, for example. But you can also find a suitable place for a designer floor lamp in other living spaces such as the dining room, bedroom or hallway** - and thus significantly enhance the room.

What colours are designer floor lamps available in?

When it comes to design, many people first think of black or white - just plain and simple. And they are not wrong about that. Because many designer lights are kept in these discreet non-colours. What materials are designer floor lamps made from?

The same applies to materials: anything is possible. Whether classic materials such as wood, metal, glass and plastic or something really unusual such as linen, bamboo or rattan. Ultimately, every designer has their own preferences and, of course, so does every customer. And the previous furnishings of the entire flat are also not unimportant. After all, the new light should go well with the furniture and the other lights.

Do designer floor lamps work with LEDs?

The present is called LED and the future is called LED. This is why designers are increasingly focussing on LEDs. Even if some designers such as Ingo Maurer will always carry on a very special admiration for the good old light bulb in their luminous works of art, it is impossible to imagine design without LED. Completely new possibilities open up in terms of design simply because thanks to LEDs, much more filigree solutions are possible than with conventional light bulbs. Modern LED technology - especially when permanently installed - guarantees more and more scope in terms of shape and size.

Are there also dimmable designer floor lamps?

Of course they are available - with a normal dimmer or touch dimmer** as required. To select accordingly, all you need to do is select the "Dimmer included" or "With touch dimmer" filter. And now you have an overview of which designer floor lamps with the desired feature come into question.
