Which black floor lamp should I choose?

Black floor lamps are elegant design statements. They look particularly impressive in combination with light-coloured interiors. However, they also fit perfectly into darker rooms with rich colours such as petrol or navy - and of course also really come into their own in the all-black trend!

Floor lamps with black shades are often used for diffuse lighting. A gold-coloured inner shade provides even warmer, cosier light.

Which light source belongs in a black free-standing light?

If it is a black free-standing luminaire with a socket, LED lamps are the first choice. Here you can choose between:

  • Light sources with matt or white bulb
  • Filament lamps, which resemble an incandescent lamp
  • Head mirror lamps for indirect light

If the floor lamp is used in the living area, a warmer light colour of less than 3,300 Kelvin is recommended. In the work area, on the other hand, a more functional light between 3,300 and 5,300 Kelvin.

By the way: LEDs save costs thanks to their high energy efficiency, especially when the black floor lamp is used permanently for interior design.

What is so special about black floor lamps with permanently installed LEDs?

In addition to high energy savings, the special thing about black floor lamps with permanently installed LEDs is that they take on modern shapes that would not be possible with other light sources. These include compositions with geometric shapes and filigree light fittings in which the light source is "invisible", as the luminaire and light source are one and the same.
