Which interior styles do black chandeliers go with?

Which bulbs do you use in black chandeliers?

Many chandeliers have open bulbs, as was the case with real wax candles in historical chandeliers.

Today, LED bulbs are the most commonly used light source, especially in multi-flame chandeliers. LED bulbs also last longer and can save up to 90% on energy consumption and bills compared to halogen bulbs.

In terms of light quality, you should consider a warm white light colour of less than 3,300 Kelvin, a high CRI index rating from Ra 80 - and the typical candle shape or windblast look bulb.

Despite numerous modern designs, the open, candle-like light chandelier is found in most black chandelier designs.

E14 LED-Lampe

An E14 bulb in a candle shape with an LED filament is the most commonly used bulb in modern chandeliers.

How high should you hang the black chandelier?

As the room's statement piece, a chandelier should always be hung where it can be immediately seen without restricting movement and visibility.

This means that the chandelier must leave a gap of 60 - 80 cm above a tabletop. Freely suspended in the room, on the other hand, the chandelier is usually hung so high that it’s possible to walk underneath it comfortably.

In this instance,  a distance of at least 200 cm from the floor is advisable, or sometimes more, especially if you’ve got extremely tall friends or relatives!

Large rooms are the optimal place for expansive chandeliers. Just make sure yours hangs high enough so that even the tallest of visitors get to enjoy it without bumping their head.

However, in the dining room, they shouldn't obstruct the view of the person sitting opposite or pose a health and safety risk.
