Ceiling lights provide brightness. In every room. That's why a good ceiling light is also part of the basic bathroom inventory. Is that it? No. In addition to the bathroom ceiling light, a good lighting concept in the bathroom also consists of other light sources. The bathroom and mirror lighting in particular is essential for hairstyling, applying make-up, shaving and inserting contact lenses.
In short: Your safety! Because the words "wet room" or "damp room", which often accompany the bathroom, say what it's all about here: a **life-threatening combination of electricity and moisture.
It may seem harmless in the end, but please take our advice seriously to only have the installation carried out by an electrician. Because both the correct selection of a light that is optimally protected against moisture and a clean, fault-free connection are necessary so that you can enjoy your new bathroom lighting without any worries.
The installation of the ceiling light in the bathroom and other bathroom lights should always be carried out by a qualified electrician who is familiar with the safety regulations in accordance with DIN VDE 0100 Part 701. These regulations ensure the necessary safety in the damp room and protect against potential hazards.
The bathroom is divided into protection zones for this purpose In the bathtub, you are in zone 0. This is followed by Zone 1, where it gets pretty wet when splashing around and showering. Zones 2 and 3\ follow. Although the latter is somewhat removed from the source of moisture, the luminaires still get damp there. Through haze, for example.
Each zone requires a special IP protection class from the luminaires. But that's not the only important thing. The operating voltage also plays a decisive role in the question: allowed or not?
