Oh artificial Christmas tree - how beautiful your lights are

It doesn't needle, you don't have to buy a new one every year and you save money in the long run. We are talking about the artificial Christmas tree with atmospheric lighting. From deceptively real to stylised, it is available and not only brings a Christmassy atmosphere into the living room, but also into the garden.

How real does an artificial Christmas tree look?

Do you find the advantages of an artificial tree absolutely convincing? But should it look real? That is not a problem. There are models where you can't tell at first glance whether they are real twigs and needles, but let's be honest: on closer inspection, of course they are. Ultimately, however, it's all about creating a festive atmosphere - and an artificial tree is just as good at spreading this as its coniferous counterpart from the forest.

What to look out for when choosing?

Before you buy an artificial Christmas tree, you should think carefully: should it be timelessly simple? Is it supposed to look like freshly felled in the forest? Should it deliberately not look real, for example with white branches or as a completely stylised version? Then you should ask yourself how big the tree should be and whether you want it for the living room or the garden.

For outdoors, the question of suitable types of protection (explanation: table below) comes into play. As you can see, there is no such thing as the perfect artificial Christmas tree - there are great models to choose from for every need and every individual requirement. Would you like help with this? Then simply get in touch with our specialist advisory service - you will find the contact details below.

How do you set up an artificial Christmas tree?

There is no general statement on the construction of an artificial Christmas tree. Because, as in nature, nothing in the world of artificial trees is completely uniform. In the case of highly stylised trees, for example, an elastic webbing strap with nylon cable clips with numerous LEDs is simply pulled over a triangular frame. Small trees for insertion in balcony boxes, on the other hand, do not require any assembly. They come ready-made out of the box and you can get started immediately with atmospheric lighting. Then, of course, there are also models where the branches have to be inserted into the trunk. But even that is not rocket science and is easy to master.

What sizes are available for artificial Christmas trees?

From tiny dwarfs for sticking in balcony boxes to true giants that tower ten metres high in the front garden, everything is available. Just think about the purpose for which you want the tree and whether you are restricted by a ceiling, for example. Then use the "Height " filter and enter your desired size directly.

What models are available for indoors?

Are you looking for an artificial Christmas tree for your home? Here you will find a wide range of models - for example:**

  • Stately two-metre models with snow-covered tips and sparkling lights
  • Completely white trees with warm white lights including integrated timer
  • Ready-decorated Christmas trees with lights for the side table in the living room
  • LED Christmas tree silhouettes for a stylish play of light

What models are available for outdoors?

Would you like to add a pretty artificial Christmas tree to your real trees in your garden to create a great lighting atmosphere? And you also want your balcony and patio to glow like Christmas? Then you'll be spoilt for choice, as there are various Christmas tree models for outdoors - for example:

  • Light silhouettes of up to ten metres that are awe-inspiring from afar
  • Small earth spike trees for balcony boxes with atmospheric light
  • Wintery bare trees with enchanting light accents

Please note: If you want to set up your artificial Christmas tree in the garden, you should also take into account that it will be standing in the snow - or even in the rain. This is of course extremely unfavourable in conjunction with electrics. Therefore, always ensure an appropriate degree of protection for outdoor use. This should be IP44 or higher for your illuminated trees. The lamps are protected against foreign bodies that are larger than one millimetre and against splash water. This table gives you a comprehensive overview:

Digit IP4 X 4 Protection against foreign bodies
0 No protection
1 Protected against solid foreign bodies ≥ 50 mm
2 Protected against solid foreign bodies ≥ 12.5 mm
3 Protected against solid foreign bodies ≥ 2.5 mm
4 Protected against solid foreign bodies ≥ 1 mm
5 Dustproof
6 Dustproof
Digit IP4 X Protection against moisture
0 No protection
1 Protected against vertically impinging dripping water
2 Protected against dripping water at an angle
3 Protected against water spray
4 Protected against splash water
5 Protected against water jets
6 Protected against strong water jets
7 Protected against temporary submersion
8 Protected against permanent submersion

You can find more information on the types of protection in our IP protection types guide.

Do artificial Christmas trees only come with lights?

As befits a lamp and luminaire shop, Lampenwelt.de naturally also focuses on Christmas trees with lighting. But of course we also offer the appropriate fairy lights to decorate your own Christmas tree - whether real or artificial. Just have a look in the subcategory fairy lights.
