Every year the designers of Christmas decorations give us new funny, exciting and surprising lighting ideas.
These include, for example, XXL Christmas trees for outdoor use, which consist of a string of lights that is hoisted up a flagpole. This abstract decoration shows how modern Christmas decorations follow the motto "less is more". This trend also includes figure-hugging silhouettes with minimalist shapes that look particularly festive.
The penchant for simplicity can also be found within the four walls: with Skandi-Xmas! Inspired by Scandinavian minimalism, it features simple shapes, light colours and wooden elements.
Apart from these trends, there is so much more to discover. Z. For example, brand new poinsettias in a velvet look or black cage design, inviting window decorations, LED candles in ever-changing colours or colour-changing Christmas decorations that play music.
Most manufacturers of Christmas lighting now rely on LEDs. In fact, it was this lighting technology that made the multitude of designs we know today possible in the first place. This is because LEDs are very small and can therefore illuminate any shape, however small, thin or large, without having to use a large-format light source.
But that is just one of the many advantages:
Outdoor Christmas decorations require a higher degree of protection as they are constantly exposed to different weather conditions. Christmas decorations for outdoors generally have an IP44 protection rating and are therefore protected against splashing water and solid foreign bodies ≥ 1 mm.
The law stipulates that Christmas lighting must not be significantly brighter than the other lighting on site. It is also compulsory to observe the night-time rest periods from 10pm to 6am. Overall, the main aim is to ensure that the neighbourhood is not disturbed by too many or the wrong placement of Christmas decorations.
With classic Christmas decorations, the small light bulbs often fail. We offer replacement lamps for these.
Our tip: Gradually switch to LED Christmas decorations - or, for example, use an LED light source for your favourite poinsettia and immediately benefit from all the advantages of LEDs.
There is no set day to start decorating for Christmas. However, many take the 1. Advent or Sunday of the dead for the occasion.
The Christmas lights then usually stay up until the Three Wise Men on 6 December. January or Mariy Candlemas on 2. February. But of course this is also up to personal taste. With fairy lights, for example, it's easy to decorate all year round.
